Robert Bateman

In October 2006 Jackie had the opportunity to attend a Master Artist Seminar given by Robert Bateman in Yellowstone National Park.

During this course Mr. Bateman taught on a wide range of subjects, including painting techniques, capturing the essence of the subject, the palette, drawing and balance. Mr. Bateman gave a painting demonstration where he took a painting from concept to completion. He led a photography field trip where he showed hands on techniques for capturing subject matter and proper lighting. Mr. Bateman hosted several lively conversations on art related subjects and artist motivations.

Throughout the seminar Mr Bateman related how he had used his art to bring attention to the issues threatening our environment. Sharing his passion for the natural world around us, he encouraged the naturalist in all of us.
